The Indian government has increased its Education Budget by 8% from last year’s Rs 1.04 lakh crore to Rs 1.12 lakh crore.

Good News from the Education Budget 2023 of India, on February 1 2023 the Union Budget 2023-24 was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the parliament. The Education Ministry’s budget allocation this year has announced Rs 1.12 lakh crore for the Education sector of India in 2023 – 2024. The finance minister has increased the education budget 2023 by 8% compared to last year’s budget, the Department of School Education will be expected to get Rs 68,804 crore and the Department of Higher Education will be expected to get Rs 44,094 crore.

- The key highlight of the Education Budget 2023 is that it has got the highest-ever allocation for the education sector As per reports, the education ministry has announced Rs 1.12 lakh crore for the Education sector of India in 2023 – 2024. The finance minister has increased the education budget by 8% compared to last year’s budget
- Development of Mobile Applications Using 5G technology:- 100 Labs will Be Set Up in Engineering Colleges in India announced by The finance minister. These colleges will collaborate with various authorities, banks, and other business regulators. To build smart classrooms, intelligent transport systems, precision farming, and healthcare applications for utilizing the new technological opportunities along with new business models and potential jobs.
- National Digital Library To Be Set Up:- To provide digital learning, FM Nirmala Sitharaman has announced plans to establish a national digital library for children and adolescents. To provide availability of quality books and study material across various locations, languages, and devices in PDF and video format. Also, the minister urged the installation of physical libraries in the states at the Panchayat level to have access to Digital Library resources for children.
- Multidisciplinary Courses For Medical Devices and Research:- To fulfill the medical field requirement of skilled manpower in medical technologies and high-end manufacturing along with research. the government will provide funds for the development and research to public and private medical colleges and private-sector R&D teams for encouraging collaborative research and innovation.
- Recruitment of Teachers for Tribal Schools:- the government has announced to recruit 38,800 teachers to uplift education for tribal students, in the next three years to the 748 modern residential schools, serving around 3.5 lakh tribal students. Around 38,000 teachers and supporting staff will be recruited in the coming 3 years, for 740 Eklavya Model Residential Schools serving 3.5 lakh tribal students.

- Make AI in India and Make AI Work for India:- The Finance Minister also indicated the development of Artificial Intelligence in India as well as the establishment of at least three Centres of Excellence in some of the country’s top educational institutes. This plan will push the vision of ‘Make AI in India and Make AI Work for India’.
- PM Kausal Vikas Yojana 4.0 For Skill Development:- The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana was initiated earlier as a skill development initiative scheme to teach skills and provide opportunities. Indian youth will be learning skills about coding, robotics, drones, mechatronics, IoT, 3D printing, and essential soft skills to get ready for the global job industry.
- The finance minister launched a unified Skill India digital platform that will ease formal skilling as per demands, provide access to entrepreneurship schemes, as well as link job-seekers with employers including MSMEs.
